What a ride

Maybe it was Confucius, maybe it was Forrest Gump...but somewhere in time, a wise man (or woman, no sexism from me) once said "Don't frown because it's over, smile because it happened". These are words that the Big Blue Nation need to keep in mind as we spend the rest of the weekend mourning the loss of our basketball season.

It was some bittersweet irony that UK was knocked out of the tournament on the 1 year anniversary of Billy Clyde's dismissal. It also serves as a reminder of the remarkably fast fashion that John Calipari brought this program out of the gutter and returned it to a household name.

Not much to say about the game itself. You don't shoot 12.5% from behind the arc AND shoot 55% from the free throw line all in the same game and expect to win it. You'd have a tough time beating the Auburn's and LSU's of the basketball world with numbers like those, much less a top 5 team like West Virginia.

Hang in there folks. Baseball season is firing up and all you Reds fans like me have the first 2-3 months of the season to look forward to when they fool us into thinking they might be contenders.
