Thanks, Dino Gaudio

- Surely you didn't think I forgot about the BIG BLUE? No way, I just wanted to make a special post thanking Dino Gaudio for helping the Cats get to next weekend.

- Dino, you sly dog, did you really think putting your star forward, Al-Farouq Aminu, back on the court with two fouls wasn't going to result in his third? With the score tied at 19, Aminu picked up his third foul with 11:39 left in the first half, sealing the fate of the Demon Deacons. I appreciate this, leaving your best player out there with two fouls when your still close, absolutely brilliant Dino, and Cats fans appreciate you so. You rendered Ish Smith ineffective and your squad was down 16 at the half. Well done sir, well done!

- Anytime Dino wants to come over and have dinner he is welcome! We can have an old-fashioned southern dinner: soup beans, pone of cornbread, fried potatoes, sliced onion, and mustard greens to top it off. Just come on over Dino, your welcome in the Bluegrass state. Once again thank you, and we'll e-mail you a piece of the title!

-Until next time, Adios!

  1. What't the deal with the ACC? Wake's basketball coach is named Dino, Clemson's football coach is Dabo. Crazy coastal southerners.

  2. He had to put Aminu back in for the rest of the half. He knew the game was getting away from him and took a chance, it really was the only chance he had. He was tied at 19 with Aminu in. He got his second foul, UK went up by 10. At that point, I can't blame him for putting him back in the game. It was the only chance he had of staying close.

  3. When you are a underdog like Wake was, you have to take a risk like that in order to defeat a team like Kentucky. I would put a little of the blame on Aminu because he has to know in that situation not to even come close to fouling or the game is over. What if Aminu doesn't pick up his third foul and Wake stays close? Then it is a brilliant move. The fact is, Coach Gaudio knew the only chance he had was with Aminu in and he took the gamble. A gamble that he had to take in my opinion.

  4. He got his third foul with 11:39 left in the first half, after they were tied at 19. No one was ever up 19 until it was 34-24 at the 5:29 mark.......it wasn't getting out of hand....why not just wait till UK got up 10 then take your chance......I just believe I would have sit him after his second until it got out of hand, then take the risk....

  5. That's coaching, you either look brilliant or ignorant in situations, Gaudio leaving him in led to a third foul and a 16 point lead at the break......no what if's what happened, happened, not a good move on his part....
