Mock Draft 1.0

I always love a good competition, that being said maybe Mr. Borders and I can have a Kiper vs McShay battle when it comes to mock drafts. If Mr. Lykins wants to join the frey he can be Merril Hoge!

I love doing mock drafts in everything and this year will not be any different, but this time I can do it on a blog, getting praise and criticism, I love it!

Anyways, here is my picks 1-10

1. St. Louis Rams- Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma. Bradford, could've been the first pick last year but chose to come back to school. The decision didn't look the brightest after being hurt in the first game of the season this year, tearing his rotator cuff. This pick is one I feel the Rams will take but I don't exactly agree with. Bradford ran the spread at Oklahoma which never seems to transfer well to the NFL game. Bradford has tremendous knowledge and can lead, but his arm strength is in question. This is a high, high risk pick for the Rams.

2. Detroit Lions- Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska. Suh can step in immediately with Corey Williams and make the Lions a different defense. With two formidable defensive tackles the Lions will make an immediate improvement in the stopping the ground attacks of other teams. He doesn't get in the backfield as much as the other big defensive tackle in this draft: Gerald McCoy, but he will be a nice compliment for Williams. The Lions could get better quick with this pick.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma. McCoy, is the best pass rushing DT in this draft. He could help immediately with his quick first step and relentless pressure he puts on the quarterback. If Suh was to drop here the Bucs may take him, but either way it is a win, win for the Bucs and their 28th ranked defense from a year ago.

4. Washington Redskins- Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State. There is a number of different ways the Skins can go with this pick. They could take Clausen as a QB for the future, they could go with Eric Berry who is probably the best athlete in the draft, but I see them going with Okung to boost their offensive line. He can step in immediately and help block Jason Campbell's blind side, not to mention help Clinton Portis get back to pro bowl form.

5. Kansas City Chiefs- Eric Berry, S, Tennessee. Berry impressed at the combine proving not only can he hit hard, but he is big and fast enough to tackle in the open field, and guard the deep ball. He will be the best player on the board at this stretch in the draft, so look for Berry to be a key contributor for an improving Chiefs team. He has Ed Reed quickness with John Lynch contact abilities.

6.Seattle Seahawks- Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame. This is my first curveball of the draft, with Matt Hasselback getting older I look for Pete Carroll to draft a QB for the future. He has pinpoint accuracy, great arm strength, and has already played in a pro system at Notre Dame. I could see the Seahawks going Buluga at OT, or possibly Morgan at DE. The Seahawks will look to the future with this pick after trading Seneca Wallace to the Browns this off-season.

7. Cleveland Browns- Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech. Morgan is what the Browns need at DE, he is not only a great pass rusher, but he also stops the run. He is double trouble and I have him has the top DE in this draft right in front of Pierre-Paul. The Dawg Pound will love his athleticism. They could look at a Dez Bryant at WR, however, with an improving defense Morgan is too good to pass up at this spot.

8.Oakland Raiders- Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland. I have no clue what Al Davis thinks but this guy boasted some unbelievable attributes at the scouting combine in Indy. He is an OT that ran a 4.8 at the combine! Look for the Raiders to go with Campbell although, they could use much more of an impact player who could help right away like WR Bryant, DE Pierre-Paul, or OT Trent Williams

9-16 to come later.

Until Next Time, Adios
