Tiger Tarnished?

I know it is March Madness and NCAA tourney time, but a familiar name in the world of sports has decided to come back to professional play. Tiger Woods has announced he will return to active play on the PGA tour. Woods will play return to Augusta to compete in the 2010 Masters, where he won his first major, question is how will he be viewed?
Woods is probably the most commonly known athlete in a given sport since Michael Jordan. Woods did exactly what Jordan did for his sport, he made it fun to watch, gave children a hero to cheer on, and made memorable moments for highlight reels for years to come. Now that Woods his back from his recent "problems", will he be welcomed back with open arms?
Here is my opinion, he's not perfect and what he does off the golf course is his own business. Yes, he is an athlete, and yes, he is a hero to children, but everyone makes mistakes; if anything, children can be taught right from wrong and showed how to better yourself if you do make mistakes. Tiger Woods is an athlete that will always be known for his iconic drives, brilliant short game, and his masterful putting skills are unmatched. That is what he should be known for, not a sex scandal/"problem". I look for Woods to hit his stride and come back better than ever! I hope he does that way Gatorade and the rest of his corporate sponsors that dropped him can "wipe the egg of their face". Nike stands behind him, and so should all sports fans. People make mistakes, we all do, it's how we come back from those mistakes that make us the people we are! He didn't use proper judgment and he went for help that is all we, as the public, need to know!
I leave you with one message, if you can look in the mirror and call yourself "perfect" let me know and you can say what you will about Tiger. That being said, if you have made mistakes in your past, give Woods a second chance; don't remember his scandal, remember his swing.
Until next time, Adios!

  1. Well said

Everyone throwing stones at Tiger needs to take a look in the mirror. Too many people think that what celebrities do is everyone's business. And when a celebrity messes up, they think they are owed an apology.

Kids can also be taught that when something goes wrong or they have a personal setback, they can better themselves and become a better person because of it, which is hopefully what Tiger will do.

  2. Is it OK if I didn't care about Tiger BEFORE the scandal?

  5. Neil... who are you to be talking sports? Your analysis is amateur, your grammar is terrible, and you smell like Jared Wheeler's Sweet Sixteen Poop! LOL
